Important Information for Orders Exceeding NZD 1,000
The New Zealand government implemented new guidelines for low-value imported goods from the 1st December 2019
The new process for orders below NZD 1,000 is relatively straight forward and we have largely automated the processes in our systems
The guidelines for orders over NZD 1,000 however, are quite different and require additional effort on the part of our customers and can be affected by additional delays at customs, if all the required documentation/information is not provided at the time of shipment
Key considerations:
- Customers are required to be registered for an Importer Code
- Importer code must be provided to Candle Supply prior to shipment leaving Australia, to prevent lengthy delays
- Customs processing fees will be charged direct to the customer and must be paid along with any applicable Duty and GST calculated by Customs, prior to clearance
- Multiple orders in the same shipment are consolidated by customs and if the sum of the orders exceed NZD 1,000 then the above will apply
How to obtain an Importer Code:
- Application form can be found here >> NZCS 224: Trade Single Window – Client Registration Application
- Submit completed application form via e-mail to the address on the form
- Provide the relevant Identification documents along with the application, as required by Customs
Please note: This registration must be completed prior to the shipment being cleared, so in order to limit delays in customs, please complete this process at the time or prior to placing your order
